I received REI’s Anderson Award last week. I am still contemplating the weight of the award, which is huge as I consider my talented, passionate, and deserving peers.
I often feel like I’m not a fit in most workplaces. To be peer nominated for actions that feel authentic to me and peer recognized for being a culture add is an honor.
Racial equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging work is about the collective, the sum of us. Thank you to those who have paved the way, who demonstrate relational behaviors, and who affirm who I am. I am grateful.
Cheers to continuing to repair, learn, and practice towards a better future and outdoors for all.
