Highlights
For the past year, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to lead the Admissions and Financial Aid teams at Florida Polytechnic University as the interim Vice Provost for Enrollment. An up and coming young engineering university that is part of the state university system in Florida (if you don’t know it, check it out!!). In a year that included significant challenges, we increased applications by 46% and to date have grown the incoming fall class by nearly 40% and counting. I was lucky to work with a wonderful staff and leaders and partners around campus. And, now I’m excited to announce that I’ll be starting as Senior Vice Provost for Enrollment with The New School in New York City on June 17. It’s a tremendous opportunity to return to a private university setting and support the exciting options that are part of The New School including, Parsons School of Design, Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts, the College of Performing Arts which includes The School of Jazz and Contemporary Music, Mannes School of Music, and the School of Drama, the Schools of Public Engagement, and The New School for Social Research. I also look to continuing to connect with friends, colleagues, and partners in this new position.
Florida Polytechnic Univ did a great job these last two days preparing and carrying out the plan to ensure student, faculty, and staff safety during Hurricane Idalia. Great to work with caring and talented colleagues. We were lucky to have relatively minor weather effects (and I’ve seen too many hurricanes and storms during my time in Miami!). Wishing all my FL, GA, SC, and NC colleagues, who also dealt with and continue dealing with the storm impact, all the best. Our view in Lakeland at the close of today.
