Sustainability which has three main pillars: environmental, social and economic with numerous subcategories implicates that they are all interrelated. Sustaining or maintaining a system would be an acceptable situation but research shows that many of our systems are at risk of destabilizing and creating serious problems for all of us.  It is because we are all witnessing, in real time, the many crises affecting our planet and its inhabitants that there’s a renewed interest the 17 UNSDGs, identifying the areas with the highest need of our attention. Our common future is dependent on how we manage our environment and how we deal with economic development issues to mitigate inequities. One way to address the many SDGs is for innovators and entrepreneurs to look for opportunities to solve for these issues. That’s where sustainable design becomes of great importance. Sustainable design encourages a holistic regenerative approach to creating a product or service. It is not enough to build something; it needs to have purpose and it must not negatively impact any other system with which it may interact.  Join us on May 14th at 1 pm EST for a discussion on sustainable design in collaboration with the Center of Sustainable Global Enterprise at Cornell's SC Johnson Business College in collaboration with Monica Touesnard and Rene Bonomi, MBA featuring Jason Kliwinski, AIA, LEED Fellow, WELLap, BECxP, CSBA, Erik Simanis and Supriya Verma WELL AP
