Dion Forster

Professor, Systematic Theology and Ethics (Public Theology)

Dr. Dion Forster is a distinguished academic with two doctoral degrees, one in science and theology and the other focusing on the politics of forgiveness among Black and White South Africans.

Currently serving as the Head of Department and Full Professor in Systematic Theology and Ethics at Stellenbosch University, where he emphasizes public theology.

He is also the Director of the Beyers Naudé Centre for Public Theology at Stellenbosch University and has previously held leadership positions in various academic and social organizations.

With a wealth of expertise in Public Theologies, faith and public life, economic ethics, and social identity, Dion Forster is a sought-after speaker and author of numerous books and articles.

His research interests span neuroscience, human consciousness, strong artificial intelligence, African theology, intercultural hermeneutics, and social identity complexity theory.
