Highlights
Here's one of my favorite reviews of Scaling Altruism. It is 100% correct that we are giving away our secret sauce. That's what Altruists do, right? Anyhow, very grateful for all the positive reviews and word of mouth.
"I’m so tired of gimmicky business and operations books with shiny new frameworks that make you change everything.
If you are looking for a logical, time-tested, scalable model to structure and manage any organization as efficiently and effectively as possible, especially a purpose-driven or impact organization seeking to grow, I highly recommend this book. There’s a team out of Seattle that has been testing strategies and delivering successful hockey-stick growth to nonprofit organizations for 18 years. They are basically giving away their secret sauce.
It’s a quick read. I found the tools, structure, and no-nonsense model in Scaling Altruism to be a pragmatic solution for all organizations, both for- and not-for-profit. Everyone will tell you what you need to do, but no one will tell you how. Just one of the simplest and clearest directive texts on how to execute the basics with excellence and efficiency.
I especially loved the sections on performance measurement, benchmarking, and board structuring. At no time during my MBA program did I learn HOW to do any of that in an actual operating setting."
