Rion Dooley

Manager, Web and Cloud Services Group at Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC)

Rion Dooley is a knowledgeable research associate at the Texas Advanced Computing Center, leading the Web and Cloud Services group.

He obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science from LSU in 2004, supported by a Board of Regents Fellowship, and has a strong educational background from various institutions including Simpson College and Augustana College.

With experience at LSU's Center of Computation and Technology and now at UT, Rion has been involved in diverse projects such as science gateways, federated identity and access management solutions, realtime data integration services, and cyberinfrastructure design.

Rion's current role as the project lead of the Agave Platform demonstrates his commitment to advancing Science-as-a-Service for the open science community.

His primary research interests encompass pragmatic API design, distributed systems, devops, cloud infrastructure, and data management.

Throughout his career, he has held key positions at organizations like Data Machines Corp., Texas Advanced Computing Center, and Argonne National Laboratory, showcasing his expertise in platform services, web and cloud services, research engineering, and IT analysis.
