Dr. Sascha Lafeld is a seasoned professional with a strong background in environmental economics and politics, particularly focusing on the climate crisis, green energy, and water scarcity.

With years of experience in the field, Dr. Lafeld has worked at esteemed organizations such as the United Nations Environment Programme and Allianz/Dresdner Bank, where he was instrumental in establishing departments related to CO2 emissions trading and sustainability management.

In 2003, Dr. Lafeld embarked on a journey of self-employment and founded First Climate & Sustainable Partner/ClimatePartner, offering his expertise to major corporations striving for climate neutrality through initiatives like water stewardship and corporate green energy strategies.

After a brief hiatus, Dr. Lafeld reentered the voluntary carbon and green energy markets in 2020, aiming to contribute to the growth and enhancement of these essential markets.

Currently serving as the Chief Carbon Officer at ClimatePartner, Dr. Sascha Lafeld is dedicated to developing portfolios of top-quality carbon reduction projects certified by leading standards, such as the Verified Carbon Standard, Global Carbon Council, and the Gold Standard.
