Dr. Troy Flanagan

Vice President, Performance, Milwaukee Bucks (NBA)

Dr. Troy Flanagan is a highly experienced sport scientist, currently serving as the Vice President of Performance for the NBA team, the Milwaukee Bucks. With over two decades of experience in working with Olympic and professional athletes in Australia and the United States, Troy holds a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering and a Bachelor's degree in Sport Science. In his role with the Milwaukee Bucks, he oversees various aspects of performance, including physical preparation, sports medicine, technology and software development, sports physiology, analytics, dietetics, sports psychology, anticipation training, and player wellness. Notably, he led the team's preparation in 2021 when they secured the NBA championship. Prior to his current position, Troy spent 8 years with the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Association, where he served as the Director of Sport Science and High Performance, contributing to the success of the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Teams in the Vancouver 2010 and Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. He has also held significant roles in the Australian sports industry, including Head of Sport Science at the Victorian Institute of Sport and Co-ordinator of the RMIT Sport Science and Fitness Research Unit at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
