Duane Caneva is a highly qualified and experienced professional with a diverse background in the medical and national security fields.

He holds a Medical Doctor degree in Medicine from The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine and a Master of Science in National Security Strategy from the National War College.

Duane also completed a Residency in Emergency Medicine at Naval Medical Center San Diego and obtained a BA in Chemistry from the University of Chicago.

Throughout his career, Duane has held various key positions in prestigious organizations, including the Department of Health Abu Dhabi, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and the Department of Homeland Security.

He has also served as Chief Medical Officer at the Department of Homeland Security and as Director of Medical and Public Health Preparedness Policy at the National Security Council at The White House.

With a wealth of experience in operational medicine, Duane has worked in roles such as Protective Medical Officer at the US Department of State and Senior Medical Advisor at Customs and Border Protection within the US Department of Homeland Security.

His expertise extends to emergency preparedness and policy development, having served as Director of Emergency Preparedness at the Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, and as the Director of Medical Preparedness Policy at the White House National Security Staff and Homeland Security Council.

Duane's dedication to medical service is evident through his various positions, including Head of Shock Trauma Platoon at Fallujah Surgical, Staff in Emergency Medicine at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, and Head of Emergency Medicine at US Naval Hospital Okinawa.

He has also contributed his skills as the Head of Medical Plans and Policy at the Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, as well as Senior Medical Officer at the US Marine Corps Chemical Biological Incident Response Force (CBIRF).

Duane's background includes specialized roles such as Diving/Undersea Medical Officer at Naval Special Warfare Group ONE and Undersea Medical Officer aboard USS Kentucky (SSBN 737), showcasing his diverse expertise in different medical and security settings.
