Inter-Regional Advisor at UN-Habitat (United Nations Human Settlements Programme)

Dyfed Aubrey is a Senior Advisor at the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) with a focus on coordinating the Subprogramme on Shared Prosperity of Cities and Regions.

With a background in Development Planning with an MSc degree from the Development Planning Unit at University College London, Dyfed Aubrey is passionate about leveraging cities to enhance the quality of life for their residents and contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Having extensive experience working in the Global South and crisis-affected regions, Dyfed has a diverse portfolio that includes direct community engagement in slums and advisory roles to governmental ministers on urban policy matters.

In addition to serving as an Inter-Regional Advisor, Dyfed Aubrey has held key positions such as Regional Director for the Arab States, Senior Human Settlements Officer, and Land and Housing Expert for Iraq at UN-Habitat.

Prior to his tenure at UN-Habitat, Dyfed Aubrey has worked in various capacities including as an Engineering Coordinator in Sri Lanka and Kenya with GOAL Global, an Architect at Chetwoods, and a Shelter/Reconstruction Coordinator in Kosovo with World Vision.
