Congratulations to all of the interns everywhere working hard and building new relationships.

My internships at General Mills and Wal-Mart changed my life professionally and personally.

There is one internship program that is near and dear to my heart forever: the BOLD (Building Opportunities for Leadership and Development) internship program at Google.

FIrst, it was the greatest team effort that I’ve ever been a part of. Without Jennifer Dinsmore, Alison Asher White, Kyle Ewing, and many, many others, it never happens.

I remember the day that so many members of the first class of BOLD Internship got approved to receive offers to join Google. I remember interns working together to convince their colleagues to join Google with them full-time. I remember how hard we worked to sell their parents that Google would be a safe and great place for them to start their careers. I remember the amazing weekly programming in place to make sure each intern had a well-rounded experience. I remember when I received the nickname Papa BOLD (I went gray early but I wasn’t even 30 yet lol). Most importantly, I remember all the fun and memories created amongst the staff and interns. It was the best of times.

So to all those interns and internship program leaders out there. I see you, I appreciate you. Go create memories that will last a lifetime and make the most of your experiences. Your future self will thank you.

And to all those BOLD interns at Google past, present, and future - find each other and share the stories and memories about what made BOLD meaningful for you. I would love to hear about your stories and experiences.
