Eric Rosand is the Executive Director of the Strong Cities Network, a coalition of city governments launched in 2015 to combat extremism, hate, and polarization.23 He has over two decades of experience working on international counterterrorism and countering violent extremism issues.15
Rosand previously served as a senior counterterrorism official in the U.S. Department of State from 2010 to 2016, where he played a key role in developing and launching several multilateral platforms, including the Global Counterterrorism Forum and the Strong Cities Network itself.14 He has also held positions as a legal and counterterrorism adviser at the U.S. Mission to the UN in New York and as a co-director of the Global Center on Cooperative Security.1
