Today is Dieter Rams' 92nd birthday. As someone who likes to design and build things, I've found his work inspiring. In honor of his birthday, Gary Hustwit's documentary "Rams" is free to watch online May 20th and 21st. A good watch for anyone involved with products.
Last month I left F5/NGINX. I’m extremely honored and humbled to have been a part of NGINX’s growth over the past five years. I would like to thank Maxim Konovalov, Gus Robertson, and Robert Whiteley for your vision and leadership, and for inviting me to join you on the journey. NGINX is a great example of building world-class technology and a world-class company culture.
I am extremely proud of the many products my team delivered, and equally important, of the organization we built together. Combining teams after an acquisition is always a huge challenge and together we created a high-performing organization that delivered many new products and open-source projects while creating a great engineering culture. I hope you are all as proud as I am of what we accomplished! I will miss you, along with many friends and colleagues from across F5.
My near term plans are underway. After having a nice vacation I’m now making headway on some side interests and house projects, I’m helping to get my youngest daughter settled into high school and my oldest moved up to the University of Oregon. After that I will be looking for the next challenge that enables me to help build something as great as what we accomplished within NGINX.
