Eric Eisenbraun is an Associate Professor at SUNY Polytechnic Institute's Colleges of Nanoscale Science & Engineering with over 25 years of experience in fabricating functional materials and utilizing them to address specific challenges. His expertise also includes mentoring students to achieve success in their post-degree endeavors. His current research focus involves nanomaterials processing for IC and renewable energy applications, with a transition towards exploring factory and manufacturing optimization and nanoanalytics.

Specializing in making connections between interdisciplinary challenges and solutions, novel materials and growth processes like atomic layer deposition (ALD), bridging academia-government-corporate communication gaps, and researching nanoscale surface coatings for applications in nanoelectronics, fuel cells, batteries, and renewable energy technologies, Eric is also passionate about economic development and job creation in high tech and advanced manufacturing sectors.

Eric pursued his PhD in Physics at the University at Albany, SUNY, and completed his B.S. in Physics at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. Throughout his career, he has held various roles including Associate Professor at SUNY Polytechnic Institute, Assistant Professor at the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering of the University at Albany, Research Scientist at the Center for Advanced Technology, Chief Scientist at Tokyo Electron, and Process Engineer at Lam Research.
