Etienne's specialties encompass peace and security, conflict resolution, civilian protection, management of mixed migrations, anti-human trafficking efforts, and capacity building.

He pursued his Masters at Université libre de Bruxelles and has held various roles in notable organizations like Roots & Transition, Expertise France, ISSAT, Norwegian Refugee Council, and the International Committee of the Red Cross, among others.
