A training & new challenge update from a #5amCEO My couch to #londonmarathon2024 in just 16 weeks is getting serious with 5 weeks to go. Sunday 25th of February I ran a #halfmarathon & a week later I ran 16 miles non-stop. I lost half a stone in February after losing a full stone in January so the weight loss is slowing down & I weigh 16st 7lbs now. Mixing up the #strengthtraining with runs & started #Bulgariansplitsquats & straight leg #deadlift added to the routines. Up to 275kg on the #legpress over 4 sets too. This morning was another half marathon before breakfast in the pouring rain & wind across the #HumberBridge 6 times to get my distance in. I felt the 16 mile run & really was thirsty & pretty dehydrated. The brown water of the Humber looked good! Will look to get a water vest & carry some food on the longer runs. Will look up the best snacks for energy. Any ideas for the vest or right food very welcome please. It was a pleasure for #rradar to #sponsor the #boxing & see some really talented #Hull fighters from #StPaulsBoxingAcademy in action last night too. Great inspiration & wonderful to see the strength, skills & commitment of so many young fighters supported by a sellout crowd. My dad was a boxer & it brought back great memories of when he started me boxing in #Scunthorpe at the #LincolnImpBoxingClub. I can also announce my next #fundraising challenge will be climbing to the #EverestBaseCamp in #Nepal, 5364m high, & ascending nearby peak #KalaPatthar, 5644.5m high. My marathon, 100 mile bike ride, 3 Peaks climb & other fundraising events will help get me ready for that 2 week long journey. That challenge will be in November so more details to follow soon to help me reach my overall total fundraising target for 2024. And so finally a request to please sponsor my #londonmarathon challenge to help battle #cancer. This terrible disease took my father & is still terrorising families & taking thousands of lives each year. I know many of you have got in touch with kind words of support & promised to donate if I circulated my fundraising page & so here is the link again. I promise to keep on training & doing my bit if you can please contribute any amount you can. Every donation will help. Thank you.
