Genel Ambrose is a cultural strategist with a strong entrepreneurial spirit focused on creating social impact and fostering community building.

She has a proven track record of developing live experiences, public programs, and initiatives that drive meaningful engagement and affinity.

As a dedicated champion for Black women and girls, Genel is the founder of Good Mirrors Index, an encyclopedia aimed at empowering Black femme consciousness.

Currently, Genel serves as the Head of Cultural Programming at Apple, where she leads programming strategy and execution in major cities like LA, SF, NY, and Mexico City.

With a diverse professional background spanning seven years in Human Resources at renowned companies like HBO, Clear Channel Radio, EMI Music, Ralph Lauren Home, and Milbank Tweed International Law Firm, Genel brings a wealth of experience in talent management and client relationship development.

During her tenure at VICE Media, she spearheaded multi-million dollar initiatives that effectively connected brands with millennial and Gen Z audiences.

Genel is an alumna of the Jackie Robinson Foundation and a member of New Inc, the New Museum's incubator for professionals at the intersection of art, tech, and design.

Her expertise areas include social impact strategy, cultural and programming strategy, storytelling and content strategy, strategic partnerships and communications, talent/client relationship management, community engagement, and experiential design and event management.

Genel's educational background includes a dual Bachelor's degree in Journalism and Sociology from New York University and a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from The New School.

She has held key roles such as Head of Cultural Programming at Apple, Founder of GOOD MIRRORS, Artist-in-Residence at Montalvo Arts Center and The Laundromat Project, Founding Member at MINO, and a role in the Creative Commercial Studio at VICE Media.
