I am excited to share that Clairity Technology has closed a $6.75M seed round co-led by Lowercarbon Capital and Initialized Capital to build and scale a novel approach to direct air capture (DAC)!
The climate crisis is severe and the worsening impacts of climate change can be seen everywhere. We need solutions that can be implemented and scaled today to mitigate the worst effects of climate change in the coming years.
Our approach to DAC utilizes readily available materials and novel processes to remove CO2 in a way that is more energy and capital efficient than alternatives, reducing the total cost to improve scalability. Instead of focusing on high-purity CO2, we produce a dilute CO2 stream that is mixed with air, dramatically simplifying the process. Similarly, we rely on alkali carbonates as a sorbent, which are durable and readily available. These and other key decisions have enabled us to advance and grow quickly.
Recently, we demonstrated the ability to mineralize this dilute CO2 product with CarbonBuilt and are excited to continue to expand both the removal and sequestration of CO2 from the atmosphere this year!
