Random thoughts, on being a content creator:
- industry vs. community: determines your channel's POV. think about how movie youtubers recommend or critique a movie, or whether they enjoy/recommend something. doesn't have to be negative, but whether positive or zero opinion. let others enjoy it if they can. digging down too negatively accidentally causes beef with other niches. we want everyone to find someone they vibe with. no haters per se.
- pick your niche; MtG's player models do it well: are you in the game for winnability? cool new products/themes? player insights like combos and git gud deckbuilding? or a thematic/story nut like vorthos? perhaps you are passionate about accessories? particular artists? you're a store reviewer (think about foodie channels?)
- pick your preferred POV/media: are you a selfie guy? focus on products? how to differenciate from mere product photos? think about how "book review" channels do it: bookstagram, booktubers, etc. decor around the books in the scene. dress up! Some people have different schticks! Masks, suits, etc. invest in your setup, whether mobile or a room/desk at home. get a mobile stabilitizer, special mics, drink less milk, etc.
- branding matters. make sure your name is discoverable. apply the same across multiple social media platforms? what does your marketing funnel look like? (ultimately, do you funnel people to a webste for merch, or more followers per se? more interaction? are you using FB/IG to push to Twitch for earnings?) Get a nice logo done. Hire a freelancer, don't use AI or stock images.
- Don't be afraid to pay to play. Ads are useful to growth if applied correctly. Wisely dip into communities when needed. Groups like this one are suitable to share your content (share a link to it, don't upload straight into this group. Funnel your audience to your channel!) but never forget to come back once in a while. We love to see and share the growth of local influencers/KOL.
- Lastly, know your rank (everyone makes the mistake of over-investing on one platform) cummulative audience across all platforms for your brand-entity:
- X000 = microinfluencer (collab with others. create chat groups to drop links to you content, so fellow small creators can support each other with early engagement. Pods.)
- X0,000 = KOL (key opinion leaders don't need too many followers, but what they say, others tend to follow-up with additional opinions)
- X00,000 = influencer (has a reasonably high reach. brands will want to work with you. Get invited to events, etc.)
- X,000,000 = Hello celebrity!

We've been thinking about opening a museum in Malaysia. Is there anyone interested in chatting about it? Aside from the branding, contents, marketing, and vision; I'm a bit lost with regards to funding, and other formalities.
