Lessons from Goldman Sachs' Potential Credit Card Exit

Goldman Sachs' is indicating a desire to exit its partnership with Apple because it wasn't prepared for a new payment product. Very valuable lessons for any financial institutions adding payment products (BNPL, APM, credit card, rewards)

1️⃣ Manage lending risk factors & have financial controls from automated transactional reconciliations in place. 2️⃣ Internal processes need to be created to monitor products, catch discrepancies, and ensure adoption... more so than simply introducing "a daily rewards payout and a flashy titanium card." 3️⃣ Starting small with high levels of monitoring from actual money movement & use minimizes risk and allows responsible introduction of payment products

In addition, as Apple now eyes a American Express to fill the Goldman void, let's learn from this cautionary tale and navigate the evolving landscape of payments. The right partner brings more than a product to the table, they bring knowledge, best practices, and a willingness to both guide & adapt together💡🚀
