DoorDash founder, Stanley Tang, plays $1,000,000 poker games. Here’s what poker taught him about startups

At a YC event I attended a talk with Stanley where he drew parallels between poker and startups.

When you first start playing poker, you play by your gut, not because you thought through the possibilities.

As you play more and more, you inadvertently start taking a more metrics-based approach.

You see the game in numbers because by now you’ve won and lost hundreds of rounds.

However, at the end of the day, metrics DO NOT guarantee a win.

No matter how good your intuition gets, rewards in both startups and poker come from taking bets. In both, with time, you just get better at placing them.

At Mintlify, we spend a lot of time talking to our users to understand how we can build things to 10X their dev workflows.

That's why today, we're excited to launch the Mintlify REST API.

Now, you can programmatically trigger an update whenever desired as part of your CI/CD - this is most helpful for folks who are hosting their OpenAPI in a separate repo from their docs.

Also wanted to give a shoutout to Unkey team for managing the secrets! It was such a breeze to set up. Great product James Perkins and Andreas Thomas 👏
