Is living with your addiction killing you?
I received a message yesterday off the back of my post about addiction.
A family member in despair, not knowing how to help her alcoholic son who is now living with her (His Mum) he is aged 48.
He has lost his career in Construction as a Project Manager, he has lost his marriage and access to his two kids, he is financially broke and now living with his poor Mother.
3 years ago his life was very different but his Mother informed me he had been drinking since his 20's.
I spoke to him and he was hopeless and very angry at the World. He can't believe what has happened to his life. He said he is ready to rebuild his life. I really hope he is. 🙏❤️
If drink or drugs are starting to effect your life you can change. Look out for challenges at work, sick days, turning up late, going in still drunk or high or drinking or using at work. These are signs things are slowly getting worse.
If your partner has left or is threatening to leave because of your addiction you better wake up. If your partner is non communicative and is starting to do things without you. You better wake up. If you partner no longer asks you about the children you better wake up.
If your finances are starting to be affected, things like debt (credit cards and loans), struggling to make your payments, your savings are being depleted, or your living beyond your means. You better wake up.
These are just some of the warning signs. Very few people change before their life falls apart. I hope you seek help before it kills you. I am so glad I did.
God bless you all 🙏❤️
