Last month I joined TURN - REUSE, as their Chief Commercial Officer, overseeing sales and marketing. After a few years out, it’s a delight to be back in the sustainability world again.

When I started working in the environmental space 15 years ago, most of my time was frustratingly spent convincing people about the science. There was a distinct lack of scalable solutions, no board seat or agenda for key topics, and little to no budget.

On the back of climate week in NYC, the space now has plenty of momentum.

TURN caught my eye with its ambition to eliminate single-use plastic by rewarding people to change their behavior. They’ve designed a reuse system that includes washing technology, a software incentives platform, smart bins, and a reverse vending infrastructure. With clients like Starbucks, PepsiCo, Live Nation Entertainment, Delta Air Lines, and more, the potential to scale is significant.

Looking forward to getting plugged back into this space. Anyone involved in #sustainability #circulareconomy #plasticfree #behaviorchange #cleantech #reuse let me know!

I’m also on the lookout for marketing & sales managers, designers, and more, so hit me up if you have any good links.

ASYSTEM has officially been acquired.  Today the business joins the Veritas Farms family.   From launching during the pandemic 🤯 to an M&A process that felt like a thriller, it’s been an education full of every emotion.

Throughout it all, I kept coming back to this Calvin Coolidge quote “Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent”. I couldn't have been luckier to work alongside Oliver Walsh & Marisa C. who embody this to the fullest.

This moment stems from the endless graft of a committed collective who brought ASYSTEM to life, so thank you Arsh Sidhu, Joshua LeVine, Tom Fraser-Wishart, Teak McAfee, Jay Cowin, Jenna Grossbart, Jack Simonds, Rose Davis, Rakesh Narayana, Edward Wood, Corey Angelo & many more, it’s been a joy to work with you all.

We’ve achieved a lot over the years:

  • Creating award-winning products (⚡ Gel Roll-on)
  • Partnering with icons Warner Bros, DC Comics and JetBlue
  • Launching a product incubation studio, ASYSTEM Labs
  • Stocking our products in over 200 stores, inc. Nordstrom, Saks, Erewhon

For the future ahead, Veritas is the perfect partnership for ASYSTEM. When we first met the team, it was clear this was a great fit, with a shared vision about the future and a strong alignment on the values that will guide us there. Thank you Marisa C., Thomas Krogh & Ramon Pino, your dedication and skills fill me with so much confidence about the future. (And provide proof that a cold email can go a long way!)

It has been an immense pleasure to build this brand and I look forward to supporting the talented Veritas team in taking ASYSTEM to the next level.
