Ian Scholten

Director, Indigenous Clean Energy

Ian Scholten is a collaborative and dynamic thinker with a passion for creating change at a local level.

With expertise in facilitation, communication, and empathetic listening, Ian excels at getting people to engage in meaningful conversations and developing unique solutions to problems.

His strong leadership and project management skills, combined with a commitment to exceeding expectations, enable him to inspire teams and see ideas through to fruition.

Ian follows a user-centered design methodology while also exploring new approaches to enhance his processes.

He holds a High School Diploma from Wetaskiwin Composite High School and a Joint Honours Bachelor of Knowledge Integration and Anthropology with a Collaborative Design Specialization from the University of Waterloo.

Ian has held various roles, including Initiative Lead for Bringing It Home, Director of the ICE Network, Catalyst Coordinator, and Project Manager at Indigenous Clean Energy.

He has also worked as an Intern at MASS LBP, an Education Coordinator Intern at the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society of British Columbia, a Teaching Assistant at the University of Waterloo, a Communications Intern at Mennonite Central Committee, and as an Interpreter at THEMUSEUM.
