J. Padmos

Analytical Sciences and Process Development Leader

J. Padmos, also known as Dan, is a multi-disciplinary research scientist with a PhD in Chemistry and a MASc in Biomedical Engineering.

Dan has extensive experience in the synthesis, characterization, and application of noble metal nanomaterials, specializing in designing biocompatible metal nanostructures for antibacterial applications.

He has also contributed significantly to the development and patenting of unique ligands for super stabilized metal nanoclusters and particles.

Dan's research background includes a focus on the impacts of surface chemistry on material properties and applications, with technical expertise in a wide range of analytical techniques and nanomaterials synthesis methods.

Currently, at the DuPont Kingston Technology Centre (KTC), he leads the Analytical Sciences Group (ASG) and is part of the Process Development (PD) group, overseeing projects across various business units at DuPont.

His role involves multi-disciplinary materials research, product development, project management, and team leadership.

Dan has held various positions at DuPont, including Manager of Process Development and Analytical Sciences, contributing to the scientific advancements of the organization.

He has also served as an NSERC Postdoctoral Fellow at Queen's University and held teaching positions at Dalhousie University.

Dan's diverse background and leadership skills have enabled him to lead a team of scientists focused on delivering scientific excellence at KTC and DuPont.

His educational background includes a PhD in Chemistry, MASc in Biomedical Engineering, and BSc in Chemistry (Honours) from Dalhousie University.
