Urban Land Institute Spring Meeting was a great reminder on the nuances of the real estate market and the opportunities being created by the energy transition. From federal funding to heat pump deployment to net zero retrofits, I heard about many of the issues that are top of mind for real estate leaders focused on decarbonization.

One thread continues to bubble just below the surface: aligning our decarbonization strategy with the needs of the power grid. As we electrify, the opportunities for collaboration between utilities and real estate continue to increase. Check out my latest article in ULI's UrbanLand magazine where I highlight some of these opportunities, specifically a few different approaches to microgrids that provide reliability to energy consumers while supporting the overall power system at the same time.

Thrilled to see this collaboration between Moxion Power, Southern Company, and the PGA TOUR. Decarbonizing events doesn't just reduce carbon emissions. It results in a quieter, more enjoyable setting where the real stars can shine.
