James Heron is a distinguished professional known for his role in overseeing operations at the largest Japanese cultural center outside of Japan.

He has represented the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre (JCCC) in various capacities, hosting events for esteemed dignitaries including members of the Japanese Imperial Family, Japanese Ambassador, and Consul General, alongside leaders from Japanese and Canadian corporate sectors.

James Heron has successfully forged lasting partnerships, securing $7 million in investments from major Japanese corporations and collaborating on marketing efforts with renowned organizations like the Japan Society of New York and the Japan Foundation.

Over a decade, he significantly grew the annual revenues of the JCCC from $650,000 to $2.5 million by expanding programs, cultivating partnerships, boosting membership, and enhancing community relations.

He is the visionary behind the Toronto Japanese Film Festival and also serves as a Japanese film reviewer for Nikkei Voice newspaper and BENTOBOX magazine.

James Heron has been instrumental in fundraising efforts, raising over $15 million from various sources for the expansion of the JCCC, including the construction of a 10,000 sq. ft. performance hall.
