James Losey

James Losey is a seasoned professional with over a decade of experience in public policy, specializing in the convergence of information, technology, and power. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Media Studies at Stockholm University, focusing on human and civil rights in the digital domain and public policy advocacy.

James has a diverse educational background with a Master of Social Science from Uppsala University in Sweden and a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of California at Berkeley.

Throughout his career, James has been affiliated with prestigious institutions such as the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University, the Center for Global Communication Studies at the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania, and the Internet Policy Observatory.

His professional experience includes roles as a Google Policy Fellow with the Global Network Initiative, a Consortium on Media Policy Studies fellow, and a policy analyst and fellow at the Open Technology Institute at New America, where he focused on communications policies related to human rights.

In addition to his academic and policy work, James is an accomplished musician, playing drums, banjo, and guitar, and also expresses his creativity through photography.
