Oh, how time flies...

Almost three years ago, I joined the Canadian Chamber of Commerce (Canada) to work as a Policy Advisor in its agriculture, transportation, and infrastructure practice with a pretty vague idea of what a chamber of commerce actually did (is it a government organization? is it a hiring agency? is it an actual chamber like in Harry Potter?). Since then, I've had the enormous fortune of working with some of Canada's leading businesses and associations in agriculture, transportation, cannabis, and foodservice industries. Just a few of the accomplishments below:

  • Resolving infrastructure blockades caused by protests in British Columbia;
  • Helping businesses of all kinds get through the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic through the Canadian Business Resilience Network;
  • Twice advocating for a swift and peaceful end to labour actions at the Port of Montreal;
  • Creating an economic home for the legal cannabis industry within the federal government and participating in a small roundtable with the federal Ministers of Health and Mental Health on the Cannabis Act review;
  • Representing the Canadian Chamber abroad through international forums such as the Business@OECD and B7.

With all that said, it's time to announce that January 5 is my last day with the Chamber. A big thank you to all the wonderful people who have come and gone (I won't name them all here for fear of forgetting someone).

As sad as I will be leaving the Chamber, I'm equally as thrilled to announce that I'll be starting work as a Regulatory Affairs Manager at the Canadian Cattle Association beginning next Monday, January 9! Can't wait to get started and sink my teeth into some of the most dynamic and exciting files facing the agriculture and agri-food industry.

Watching Jean-Yves Duclos, Carolyn Bennett, Nathaniel Erskine-Smith, and Morris Rosenberg announce the launch of the #Cannabis Act review on behalf of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce (Canada).

Great to be joined by colleagues from around industry, including patient groups, industry associations, and more. #cdnpoli #cdnbiz
