Highlights
Are you feeling defeated?
Have no fear, embrace the stoic way.
➜ Failure = Character Test Anyone can shine when it's easy. Tough times reveal true grit. Do you crumble or pick yourself up?
➜ Failure = Growth Opportunity Stings like hell, right? Instead of feeling sorry for yourself, just ask yourself: What went wrong? How can I level up?
➜ Failure ≠ Game Over It's a setback, NOT a life sentence. Failed today? So what? Tomorrow's a clean slate.
Remember: Failure isn't your nemesis. It's your teacher in disguise.
Trust me.
What's one failure you're grateful for?
The 25% Advantage.
Is there a business lesson from tennis?
Watching Wimbledon this weekend, a statistic jumped out at me:
First serves succeed 81% of the time
Second serves only 56%.
That's a 25% difference! (I did the math for you)
Could there be a business lesson here?
I think so.
First attempts have a clear advantage. You can win the point outright.
That's not to say that failing to get your first serve in means you're doomed.
Make an adjustment. Maybe less power, play for the angles, serve to the backhand.
Playing your second serve (backup plan) is less desirable. It's safer but has a greater chance of failing. But a second serve can keep you in the game.
Since a strong start tilts the odds in your favor, focus on perfecting your first impression.
Each attempt, successful or not, provides valuable data. Use it.
Strive for 'first serve' quality across all aspects of your business.
But here's the key: You can't just serve. You need to be ready for the return.
To anticipate, rally, and respond.
