Jason Taylor, an Afro-Latino born in 1985 and raised in Koreatown, Los Angeles, is a talented and versatile filmmaker with a passion for storytelling. His creative journey began in childhood, where he discovered his love for writing and eventually transitioned into the world of television and film. Starting as a rapper in high school, Jason's career evolved through various roles in the entertainment industry. He interned at BET Networks, gaining experience in original programming, casting, postproduction, and legal departments. After his internship, he ventured into photography, utilizing his skills for freelance opportunities. Inspired by photography, Jason explored film production, working as a production assistant and eventually directing his first documentary feature, 'Fight the Force,' in 2017. This film celebrated women's history and paid tribute to Queen Latifah. Subsequently, during the pandemic in 2020, he wrote and directed his first short film 'Validated Freedom,' which was well-received in film festivals. Today, Jason is the writer and director of Actknowledge Productions, his production company, focusing on diverse content, including shorts, feature films, and scripted and unscripted shows. His aspiration is to become a leading showrunner and executive producer to empower others in the industry.
