Highlights
Once a year, Anaplan holds a friendly company-wide contest to celebrate how employees live our company values every day - Authentic, Open, Inclusive, Collaborative, Creative, Tenacious (or as we like to call it, #AnaplanLOVE). These values seek to create true business impact and drive our community forward. I genuinely enjoy the entries. I love being reminded of how my colleagues lead with values and their interpretation of them. The entries cover the gamut: poignant essays, funny videos, uplifting photos.
Since I joined Anaplan in 2019, I've voted but never entered. But this year - after seeing how my colleagues opened themselves up to me, to each other - was different. I put together a montage to highlight the efforts that Anaplanners have been taking behind the scenes to address, in our own ways, the rise of hate crimes against the AAPI Community. The entry won this year's award for Open. I share this here for several reasons:
- LinkedIn is where the people I know who have the most influence, ability to impact, and access to privilege interact with one another.
- This community at Anaplan was so moving to me, so valuable, so incredibly helpful, that I hoped to pay the kindness forward by helping others feel seen and less alone.
- As a colleague reminded me, our AAPI experience didn’t stop just because the media has moved on. I hope this video gives you a short glimpse into our little corner of the world, one that leans on each other for community and healing.
It means a lot to me when people open up about their stories. There is power in the act - power to move, power to change. Inspired by their voices, I'm adding mine. To my LinkedIn network: let's use our privilege to #StopAsianHate.
