While the pandemic has changed the structure of our everyday, it has hit our youth the hardest. Many are struggling with their mental health, and there are ways for us to all get engaged and support.
Blue Shield of California works with both Brightline and Oakland Promise, which are aimed at supporting youth. Brightline is providing mental health explicitly for students and their parents, and will soon be available to Blue Shield colleagues and their families, as well as “self-funded” members. Oakland Promise revolves around mentorship of Oakland Unified School District graduates as they navigate the college system, and is currently seeking more mentors for their scholars.
