It’s rare that a leadership advisory firm gets to boast about innovation. That’s why I’m so excited to share that my wonderful colleague Symon Elliott has come back to Russell Reynolds Associates to launch our new executive mentorship program, RRA Mentor.
Inspired by Arthur C. Brooks’ bestseller, From Strength to Strength: Finding Success, Happiness, and Deep Purpose in the Second Half of Life, Symon developed RRA Mentor to connect executives with many prominent recently retired CEOs and CFOs in our network.
More than 60% of newly appointed CEOs and CFOs are entering the C-Suite for the first time. I know from my experience as a leadership advisor that my clients value mentorship and that mentorship for this highest level is hard to find. New executives often need advice from an independent voice. While board members can be a great source of guidance, it’s different from getting guidance and counsel from someone who has been there and done that - and a newly minted CXO might feel apprehensive about going to their board members to ask for guidance on some more complex contextual issues. Our mentoring program offers a pragmatic solution to that quandary and provides tangible help to accelerate and guarantee the executive’s success.

20 Years!
Today marks an incredible milestone in my career: It has been 20 years since I began my journey at Russell Reynolds Associates. I can hardly believe that two decades have passed since I first excitedly walked through the doors of our San Francisco office.
Over the years, I've had the privilege to work alongside incredibly talented, passionate, kind and innovative people who are driven to make the world a better place. Together, we've tackled professional hurdles, celebrated personal victories, and weathered storms—most notably a global pandemic that forever changed how we work.
To all my colleagues, clients, mentors and friends, thank you for your support, inspiration, and camaraderie over the past two decades. Here's to continuing our journey together, to embracing change, and to shaping an even brighter future.
