Resonsibility Response-ablility, the ability to respond; to what you do, did or have done.
As long as what you do, comes out of ‘what you are’, responsibility will be natural-ly.You will not even be aware of the phenomenon of being responsible - or the opposite -, being irresponsible. For, it will not be a topic in one’s mind.
Responsibility becomes an issue, though, when the things you do, do not come out of ‘what you are’. When you step into the pitfall of making promises to expectations of others. Like many of us do when being born, start a job, a family or being part of any community. You then feel obliged to do things that do not come out of ‘what you are’ but must come out of ‘what you are not’.
As not many fish can climb trees, you cannot respond to ‘what you are not’. You become a ‘not-you’ being either a responsible socially conditioned robot-like person or an irresponsible socially emitted person, provocative or sneaky.
Responsibility issues in our society have nothing to do with people’s competence but have everything to do with the social pressure to submit to collective structures of expectations.
People, businesses, economy and society will flourish when we understand this basic logic and start create space to become more of who we are.
