Highlights
2 weeks ago, I presented my honors thesis at the Western Psychological Association conference in Portland, Oregon!
I had the opportunity to share my #research on cultural differences in what a #compassionate face looks like to people in China and the United States, which is partially explained by how much they want to avoid feeling negative emotions. I am also very grateful to have been recognized by the American Psychological Association's Division 52 (International Psychology) poster contest. Through my thesis and poster, I hope to make a meaningful contribution to cross-cultural #psychology research!🌏💭
Thank you to my faculty mentor Birgit Koopmann-Holm, my labmates, and the SCU Psychology Department for making this experience possible❤️
Did you know that what people think a #compassionate face looks like differs across cultures?
Last weekend, I attended the Society for Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP) conference in San Francisco! This was my first in-person #psychology conference, where I presented my #research on mental representations of compassionate faces in Chinese and U.S. American contexts🇨🇳🇺🇸
From navigating the international job market, to exploring the decline in religiosity around the world, I learned so much from the wide range of talks and posters💭
I would like to thank my mentor Dr. Birgit Koopmann-Holm, my labmates Sophia Hartenbaum and Kara Murray, the SCU Psychology Department, and my family for their support.
