Jillana Enteen

Gender Sexuality Studies/ Asian American Studies/Co-Founder NUDHL: NU Digital Humanities Lab at Northwestern University

Jillana Enteen is an accomplished academic and published author with a focus on Transnational Sexuality Studies and gender-related surgeries in Thai Medical Tourism.

She holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in English Language and Literature/Letters, with a specialization in cultural and gender studies from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey-New Brunswick.

Prior to her current roles, Jillana served as an Associate Professor at Northwestern University in the Gender and Sexuality Studies as well as Asian American Studies departments. She has also held positions as an Assistant Professor at the University of Central Florida and was involved in the Digital Humanities field at Northwestern University.

With a Master's degree in English from the University of Alabama and a varied teaching background encompassing gender studies and English, Jillana brings a wealth of experience to her academic pursuits.

Her recently published work, 'Import/Export: Thai English as Transnational Sexuality Studies' (Onyx 2015), underscores her expertise in the intersection of language, sexuality, and transnationalism.

Jillana Enteen's research currently delves into the realm of gender-related surgeries conducted by Thai surgeons within the context of Thai Medical Tourism, exploring the convergence of Western and East Asian sex and gender norms.
