Jim Bankoff is a seasoned veteran of the online industry with a career spanning over twenty-five years. He has played a pivotal role in the development and leadership of numerous popular websites such as AOL.com, Mapquest, Moviefone, AOL Music, Netscape, and AOL Instant Messenger (AIM) during his tenure as Executive Vice President at AOL.

Jim's innovative approach led to the expansion of AOL's content and services onto the web, making him the first executive of a major portal to champion professional blogging. His acquisition of Weblogs Inc. and stewardship of sites like TMZ, Fanhouse, BloggingStocks, and Engadget showcased his entrepreneurial spirit and vision.

Noteworthy achievements include being recognized with the first-ever Emmy award for a webcast, acknowledging his role as Executive Producer of the Live 8 concerts online. Prior to joining SB Nation (now Vox Media), Jim served as a Senior Advisor at Providence Equity Partners, a leading private equity firm focused on media and communications.

Jim Bankoff is an alumnus of The Wharton School, where he earned his MBA, and Emory University, where he completed his undergraduate studies. His educational background also includes time at Philips Exeter Academy, New York University, and the University of Pennsylvania.

His expertise spans across various domains including online content, online video, internet advertising, internet platforms, professional blogging, business development, product marketing, business planning, and mergers and acquisitions.

Currently, Jim Bankoff holds the position of Chairman and CEO at Vox Media, Inc. He has previously served on the boards of Rosetta Stone and Where, Inc. as well as held key roles at Providence Equity Partners, AOL, LLC, Netscape, and CNN as a Production Assistant/Intern.
