Still on cloud 9 after a banner week at ASU+GSV Summit. Special thanks to Erin Mote from EDSAFE AI Alliance, Serena Sacks-Mandel from Microsoft, Kristen DiCerbo from Khan Academy, Julia Stiglitz from Uplimit, and all who attended our Women in AI panel. Congrats, too, to the #PowerofWomen awardees. Here's the list -> https://lnkd.in/dR6QMjKa.

High appreciation to Deborah Quazzo who continues to intentionally create spaces that recognize CEOs, presidents, and founders who are redefining “Pre-K to Gray” learning so that ALL people have equal access to the future.

The community that we were able to create across the ASU+GSV experience will ripple across education this year, I'm sure of it! ✨

According to the New York Times December article “Who's Who Behind the Dawn of the Modern Artificial Intelligence Movement”, there are 12 influential figures in AI — and 0 of them are women. This is an unacceptable oversight because we all know that numerous women lead and contribute groundbreaking work to AI and ML each day.

That’s why this inaugural #AILiteracyDay, I encourage us all to learn about the women who are actively contributing to the rich tapestry of AI in EDU. These women range from students, hobbyists, and scientists to district, school leaders and teachers who are shepherding their communities’ foray into AI with intentionality, rigor, and grace. May we name them, may we see them, may we know them, encourage them, raise them (!) and support them! Some are captured at the link below (https://lnkd.in/ePCzemUU). But treat this, too, as a “living list” — that will only grow and grow over time...because only when we harness the contributions of ALL people can we teach and shape AI in ways that will position it to the most good WITH (not to) the most people possible.
