Joanna MacDonald is a dedicated professional with a strong educational background in geography and environmental sciences. She holds a Master of Arts (MA) in Geography with a focus on Climate Change Adaptation Research Group from McGill University, as well as an Honours Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences (Co-op) specializing in Environmental Geography from the University of Guelph. Joanna has also participated in the Global Environments Summer Academy.

Throughout her career, Joanna has contributed her expertise to various renowned organizations. She served as the Manager of Knowledge Mobilization at Rideau Hall Foundation / Fondation Rideau Hall, showcasing her leadership skills and ability to drive impactful initiatives. Additionally, Joanna excelled in her role as a Programme Officer during a 6-month appointment at UN Climate Change, where she engaged in critical global climate initiatives.

Joanna MacDonald's passion for climate change and health issues led her to serve as the Climate Change and Health Officer and Policy Advisor at the Inuit Circumpolar Council (Canada). Her dedication to environmental matters is further demonstrated through her role as a Climate Change Adaptation Specialist at the Government of Nunavut, where she focused on developing strategies to address climate change impacts in the region.
