SORA 2.5 is finally ready for distribution! After the publication decision of the JARUS official Plenary in Kazakhstan on May, 13th 2024, SORA 2.5 has now gone through the final editing and can be downloaded on the JARUS webpage: https://lnkd.in/eexT2ZjF
The entire SORA package now consists of the following documents: SORA Main Body 2.5 SORA Annex A 2.5 SORA Annex B 2.5 SORA Annex C 1.0 SORA Annex D 1.0 SORA Annex E 2.5 SORA Annex F 2.5 SORA Annex I 2.5 SORA Cyber Safety Extension 2.5
This major release is complemented by an Explanatory Note that summarizes the major changes compared to SORA 2.0.
SORA 2.5 is a significant improvement, including: major modifications to enable a better usability by improving wording and document organisation, corrections of exaggerations and inaccuracies in certain use cases (updated Main Body, Annexes B, E, I),
new Annex A: Guidelines to write an Operator Manual for the Specific Category and guidelines on presenting a safety case to the authority,
new Annex F: Includes a supporting quantitative ground risk model, and a
formal update of Cyber Safety Extension (no content change, formerly Cyber Annex). This is a great achievement concluding 4.5 years of work by the drone regulation experts of our authority members and industry subject matter experts. Cheers to all volunteers of the SRM team. You made this possible! Now it is up to the aviation authorities to decide on when to start accepting risk assessments based on SORA 2.5.
Do you think things like ground risk and air risk assessment services to support Specific Category drone operations are important?
Then please make sure that your organisation is participating in our JARUS SORA Annex H consultation and make your voice heard.
Tomorrow April 26th is the final day for submitting comments via the JARUS Secretariat.
