“Go green with a smile on your face.”
Judith Camarcat had a pretty clear idea of what she wanted to do at LA VIE™.
As Chief of Staff for the Paris-based 🥓 Lardon Lords 🥓 one of her main responsibilities was financing the company.
Alongside their latest Series B round she also opted to run a crowdfunding campaign (you know where 😉).
Why?
👉🏻 They wanted to consolidate their fanbase. In fact, their customers love them so much they all got up at 5am to be part of the promo shoot for the Crowdcube raise!
👉🏻 They wanted to spread the word and grow their movement. They were inspired by our “offbeat marketing” (I’m bookmarking that phrase)
👉🏻 They had a need for speed. Their campaign was only live for a week, and they raised over a million Euros in just a few hours! The whole thing was done and dusted in a matter of weeks.
In total they raised over €2,027,530 from 2,734 investors. Check out the video below for the full interview with Judith. Well worth a watch!
We crunch A LOT of numbers at Crowdcube (shout out to Beth, Mahera, Quentin & all the data team!).
It helps us gain some really valuable insights about investor behaviour, people’s motivations, what makes for a successful campaign, and how all that changes over time.
Sometimes it does make my brain melt a little, as there's just so much to look at and to process. Ultimately, though, it makes us much better at our marketing.
And among all that info the stat I’m most proud of is this:
👉🏻 In 2023 we’ve had more new female users join our platform than male (49% vs 48%). 👉🏻 Better still, last month female users made up 70% of all new users on our platform.
Why did I pick this one?
Well, a lot of what we do is about levelling the playing field. Democratising access to investment opportunities that would not otherwise be available to everyday investors.
And, as these numbers show, we’ve come a long way towards that. Yes, there’s still a lot to do. But we're getting there! 👊🏻
