Highlights
North American Council for Freight Efficiency (NACFE), the group behind the wildly compelling "Run On Less - Electric Depot" program, just released a new report based on the program's findings, but further informed by a data workshop with members of fleets, OEMs, and other stakeholders. Very insightful!!
One of the main findings is that more infrastructure is needed, both at depots, yards, warehouses and distribution centers, etc, but also along freight corridors (shocker).
Two things are becoming increasingly clear:
-
The delays in getting adequate power from utilities to energize fixed charging infrastructure at these sites is a huge barrier to CA's goals of accelerating the shift to BEVs.
-
More flexible charging infrastructure is needed, both to adapt to where market adoption is happening, but also to allow seasonal fleets to flex up and down their EV charging as needed during the year. EV charging can be an opex, rather than just a capex.
🔋 ⚡ Huge role for mobile BESS to play in solving both of these challenges! Moxion Power
Last week, Moxion Power was honored to participate in Thunderstrike 2024 at Camp Shelby, Mississippi, to showcase how Moxion's mobile battery energy storage systems (BESS) can reduce noise, heat, electronic signature, and fuel consumption in military operations. Mobile BESS like Moxion's MP-75/600 have a huge role to play as we think about sustaining and equipping our warfighters into the future! 🔋 ⚡ 🇺🇸
