John Zapolski

John Zapolski is an entrepreneurial leader with a diverse background in new venture creation, philanthropy, social impact, and culture change.

He founded Alive Ventures, a startup studio in collaboration with The SCAN Foundation, focusing on business ideas to enhance the lives of older adults.

Zapolski created STEAM Carnival with Two Bit Circus, an educational brand promoting science, technology, engineering, art, and math for children.

He co-founded Fonderie 47, a company that repurposed materials from destroyed assault weapons into luxurious accessories, gaining recognition for its impact and beauty.

With experience at Yahoo! and Wells Fargo, Zapolski has been involved in product design, strategy, and innovation within financial services.

He has been an educator at UC Berkeley's Haas School of Business and the School of Visual Arts, teaching courses on innovation, design strategy, and entrepreneurship.

Zapolski has worked with SYPartners advising Global 500 businesses on company culture, strategy, and marketing, and also led projects with Management Innovation Group and Strategos in strategic innovation.

His educational background includes studies in Cinema and Media Studies at the University of Chicago and an Invited Program for Creative Leaders at Harvard Business School.

In addition to his roles at various organizations, Zapolski has mentored, led, and founded ventures in different sectors, showcasing a passion for creativity, innovation, and making a positive impact.
