I really enjoyed talking the great Greg Ferro on the Packet Pushers podcast.
The world of #AI can seem complex, and frankly it is, but the building blocks are fairly simple. Quality data (and lots of it), high-performance #objectstorage, #GPUs and great models. That, plus some #dataengineering skills will take you a very long way.

I hope you enjoy it.
The evidence is really mounting around the rise of the #privatecloud. This is not the say the public cloud is in decline, that's not what the data says. What it is telling us is that as data grows, the private cloud is growing faster. The reasons?
Cost, control, security.
While the #cloudindustrialcomplex (e.g. major consulting firms and the major public clouds) would have you think otherwise, these are straight facts.
According to IDC, more than 80% of organizations are expecting to repatriate some of their compute and storage resources to private cloud or non-cloud environments. A recent InfoWorld survey revealed that 93% of IT leaders have been involved in some type of cloud repatriation project in the past three years.
Those numbers are simply undeniable.
More importantly, those repatriated workloads are running almost entirely on #objectstorage. Why? Because object storage is the storage class of the cloud and therefore the transition is seamless.
You can read more on our blog and our resources page, but if you are a F2000 executive in the data infrastructure space and you aren't looking to repatriate or, better yet, build your AI infrastructure on-prem you are not with the times and that's not a good career move.
