Today's Word on the street...about AWS.
I'm on the front lines talking to hundreds of professionals every week about their career goals and what's motivating them to make a change.
Heard recently that coming up in January, AWS is about to have a massive internal reorg of the entire sales and marketing groups. As is customary these days, employees are only given little snippets of details, with additional clarity possibly coming in the next 2-3 weeks. The extended ambiguity is the painful part, as the little bits of info that are shared are not so positive.
It might be prudent at this point to get ahead of things, and get your ducks in a row. Better to start exploring your options now than when the market gets flooded with people that get RIF'd. (just ask people from VMware about this).
If you or anyone you know is interested in hearing about potential opportunities with great companies that treat their people right, feel free to reach out. I'm here as a resource!
Word on the street...about Splunk and their pending acquisition by Cisco.
I'm on the front lines talking to hundreds of professionals every week about their career goals and what's motivating them to make a change.
So Splunk has their pending $28B acquisition due to close by Q3 of next year. Naturally this is leading to alot of uncertainty with leadership and employees. The rumor mill internally is that nothing will change, but no other information is given (sounds common, if you've seen my recent posts about VMware). Then weeks later, there is a second large round of layoffs. They say it's not attributed to the acquisition, but would you want to stick around and find out?
If you or anyone you know wants to be proactive about your career, I'm here as a resource. Feel free to reach out any time to discuss your career goals and potential opportunities with great companies.
