Junting Xiang

Research Fellow at University of Melbourne

Dr. Junting Xiang is a research expert utilizing virtual experimental tools like computational fluid dynamics and high performance computing to explore fundamental physics in engineering processes and enhance engineering system design and manufacturing.

Beginning his career focusing on the aerodynamic performance of gas turbine engines, Dr. Xiang has expanded his research to encompass varied fluid flow domains such as multi-phase flow, particle-laden flow, thermal plasma, and high-temperature metal processing.

Currently, his research revolves around metal vapor impact on arc plasma for metals/material processing, collaborating with CSIRO Manufacturing in Clayton, Australia.

Dr. Xiang pursued his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Aviation & Aerospace Engineering from Nanyang Technological University and completed his Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Engineering Mechanics at Sichuan University.

With a robust professional background, he has held positions such as Research Fellow at University of Melbourne, Visiting Researcher at CSIRO, OCE Postdoctoral Fellow at CSIRO, Postdoctoral Researcher at Deakin University, Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University, as well as serving as a PhD student and Research Assistant at Sichuan University.
