Kara Beckman

Doctoral Candidate, Nutritional Sciences

Kara Beckman is a doctoral student at Cornell University with a focus on Human Nutrition and research interests in maternal and early-life nutrition's impact on long-term physical and mental well-being.

Currently, Kara's research at the Strupp/Canfield Lab at Cornell University explores the effects of maternal choline supplementation on offspring emotion regulation and cognition, with a focus on physiological emotion regulation.

Kara holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nutritional Sciences with minor concentrations in Human Development and Affective Neuroscience from Cornell University.

With a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Biological Sciences and a concentration in Human Nutrition, Kara has a minor in Creative Writing.

Kara's educational journey includes high school at The Hill School.
