On Friday I was invited to the BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT’s London office for the Global CIO Forum World CIO 200 Summit.
It was great to take part in a panel session about leading transformation and to hear the views of the other speakers and panels. It was also a good opportunity to meet new people and finally see others I’ve known for ages but never met in person.
Lovely to be amongst those being recognised in the awards and particularly in the Legend category - which at one point I thought was just reserved for the older greyer folk in the industry 🤣
The tech community is great for bringing people together - long may it continue.

A few weeks ago I took part in a round table, the discussion centred around the idea that building a culture of security is everyone’s responsibility - not just the tech teams.
Security teams sometimes unfairly get labelled as the blocker, like us tech teams can when consulted too late in the process!
Engage early, embed secure by design principles in transformation activity and collaborate far and wide to achieve successful outcomes.
On the day I made a call to action for some of us to help those smaller, less resource rich organisations like small charities and schools who might be wondering where to start with building a strong culture of security. So let’s collectively figure out how we can do this via materials, awareness, time, advice - whatever!
