Kate's professional expertise lies at the crossroads of clinical and forensic social work. She has a wealth of experience in various areas including working with interdisciplinary teams, providing clinical support to individuals coping with serious mental illnesses, navigating the New York shelter and public benefits systems, conducting group facilitation, and developing nonprofit strategies.

Kate holds a Master of Social Work degree from Columbia University's School of Social Work, and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and French from Wellesley College. She has also engaged in a Summer Program focusing on French Language and Literature at Georgetown University.

Throughout her career, Kate Vandeveld has held roles at prominent organizations such as The Osborne Association as a Court Advocate and Forensic Social Worker, The Center for Alternative Sentencing and Employment Services (CASES) as a Psychotherapist, and the Columbia University Department of Psychiatry and New York State Psychiatric Institute as a Clinical Social Work Intern.
